Introduction

Approved by the Department of Justice of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Tongwang Applied Jurisprudence Research Institute was officially registered and established in February 2016 in accordance with the regulations of the 'Provisional Regulations on the Registration and Management of Non-enterprise Private Units' of the State Council. It is the first private applied jurisprudence research institute with independent legal personality in China.

Guangxi Tongwang Applied Jurisprudence Research Institute is the joint training base for Guangxi Master of Laws graduate students' practical skills, which is approved and constructed by the Ministry of Education, the Central Political and Legal Committee's 'Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Program', the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Academic Degree Committee. It is initiated by Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm, the largest, strictly managed, professionally serviced, and highly qualified national outstanding law firm in Guangxi. It relies on Guangxi University Law School, Wuhan University Law School, University of International Business and Economics Law School, Guangxi Normal University Law School, and other well-known universities inside and outside the region, and has a strong scientific research force to carry out applied jurisprudence research.

Guangxi Tongwang Applied Jurisprudence Research Institute takes serving the overall situation of Guangxi's economic construction and social development as its mission, and combines the actual situation of Guangxi to carry out theoretical and practical research on legal issues in various fields of judicial frontiers. At present, the research institute has established 12 research offices, including government legal counsel practice, Guangxi-ASEAN international trade legal practice, construction project legal practice, land development and utilization legal practice, financial securities legal practice, tax legal practice, enterprise legal risk prevention and control, intellectual property protection legal practice, occupational crime prevention and criminal defense, natural resource protection and utilization legal practice, labor and personnel dispute legal practice, and Internet legal practice.

Guangxi Tongwang Applied Jurisprudence Research Institute is located on the 8th floor of Haoyue Building, No. 86, East Ge Road, Qingxiu District, Nanning City, Guangxi, with a newly decorated office of about 300 square meters and activity places such as 'Tongwang Jurisprudence Lecture Hall', and is equipped with sophisticated facilities and equipment such as computers, high-performance digital copiers, and multi-functional conference audio-visual systems to ensure the activities.

The basic connotation of applied jurisprudence research

Jurisprudence is a very practical discipline, and applied jurisprudence is a branch of jurisprudence. Legal implementation theory, legal implementation methods and techniques, legal implementation systems and norms, legal product design and development, judgment and interpretation research, post-legislative evaluation, etc. are the main objects and contents of applied jurisprudence research.

Applied jurisprudence research is booming in China. In 1991, the Supreme People's Court established the China Applied Jurisprudence Research Institute to carry out relevant research on applied jurisprudence and trial theory. In 2003, the School of Applied Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law was established with the development goal of building a 'frontier of applied jurisprudence and a highland of practical education', focusing on the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality and legal practical ability. Since 2006, Tianjin has successfully held seven sessions of the 'Tianjin Applied Law Forum'.
