In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on July 1st, and to achieve learning from history to understand the truth, learning from history to enhance trust, learning from history to promote morality, and learning from history to put it into practice, and to inherit the glorious traditions and fine work style of selfless dedication and heroic struggle of the martyrs, on September 8, 2021, the Party General Branch of Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm organized all party members and lawyers of the firm to watch the red film '1950 They Are Young'.
'1950 They Are Young' is a Korean War documentary mainly told by veterans. This film tells the stories of ordinary young people who participated in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea through the memories of veterans from different services and different periods. Instead of depicting grand war scenes, the film interprets the war from the perspective of grassroots participants. In their simple language, it presents the passionate youth and dreams of the soldiers who resisted U.S. aggression and aided Korea, restoring the most authentic battlefield from different dimensions, bringing viewers a shock and resonance that touches the heart. The white-haired, wrinkled, and tearful veterans recorded by the film's lens are touching through their memories and narrations; the veterans' heartfelt expressions are simple and plain but full of power, 'They believe in the future, so we have the present.' Tongwang's party members and lawyers also shed tears unconsciously while watching the film.
71 years ago, the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, with inferior equipment, fought fiercely against a powerful enemy in the severe cold. 197,653 commanders and fighters heroically sacrificed themselves, writing a magnificent heroic ode to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea with their strong fearlessness and bravery. This battle taught the Western world, which had always believed that China was a divided country, a hard lesson and won the respect of the world; this battle was fought for the safety of our mountains and rivers and the peace of our country.
After the screening, Tongwang's party members and lawyers shared their viewing experiences. '1950 They Are Young' gave us a lesson on 'youth war songs'. The veterans with different faces in the film hope that what we remember is not just tears, but inheritance. Everyone said that they should draw on the spiritual strength of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea, strengthen their lofty beliefs, transform the results of learning from heroes into the driving force for starting a business, live up to their youth and the times, base themselves on their positions and practice their original intentions, and strive to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
