To support poverty alleviation and promote the knowledge of the Civil Code, on July 24, 2020, the Party branch of Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm and the Party branch of Guangxi Police Association jointly carried out the theme Party day activity of "Helping Poverty Alleviation and Delivering Laws to the Countryside" in Liangmao Village, Liangkou Township, Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, Guangxi.
Liangmao Village, Liangkou Township, Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, Guangxi, is a designated poverty alleviation village of the Ministry of Public Security. The village has a total of 372 households with 1,546 people, all of whom are Dong people. Currently, there are still 71 people living in poverty, with a poverty incidence rate of 4.66%. The Party branch of Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm organized 10 party member lawyers and intern lawyers to go to the village to carry out poverty alleviation and law delivery activities together with the party members of the Guangxi Police Association. This activity was strongly supported and cooperated by the village's first secretary stationed in the village and the village cadres. The activity was first carried out in the village committee meeting room. Lu Yougeng, director of the Human Resources Department of the Guangxi Police Association, briefly explained the goals and tasks of poverty alleviation to the village cadres, poor households, and villager representatives. Huang Wenxin, deputy secretary of the Tongwang Law Firm Party branch (specially invited supervisor of the Ministry of Public Security), gave a brief explanation of the legal consultation and publicity content; then a poverty alleviation donation ceremony was held, donating daily necessities (cabinets, kitchenware) to poor households in cash, and donating cement money for the construction of village collective drainage ditches to the Liangmao Village Committee. Party members and employees of Tongwang Law Firm donated a total of 11,500 yuan for this activity.
After the donation ceremony, all party members participating in the activity reviewed the oath of joining the Party in the village committee meeting room, and conducted legal consultation and publicity for the villagers in front of the village committee office building. The party members participating in the activity, combined with the newly promulgated "Civil Code", carried out consultations on legal issues such as land contract transfer, ownership of mountain forest land homesteads, agricultural production and operation, neighborhood relations, marriage and family affairs, widowed elderly, left-behind children (there are more than 600 people in the village working outside), and private lending, and conducted legal publicity on rural public security issues such as anti-gambling, anti-drug, and anti-crime, and distributed legal publicity materials to the villagers.
