On the afternoon of June 16, 2020, the Nanning Municipal Party Committee United Front Work Department Theoretical Research (Guangxi Tongwang) Base was officially inaugurated at the Guangxi Tongwang Law Forum. Du Hengnian, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Guangxi Department of Justice, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Lawyers Association, and Yan Liping, member of the Standing Committee of the Nanning Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, attended the unveiling ceremony of the base and jointly unveiled the base.

Du Hengnian requested that the Tongwang Research Base should keep in mind the important expositions of the older generation of revolutionaries on united front work, conscientiously study and understand General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on strengthening and improving united front work in the new era and the spirit of the central and autonomous region's conferences on united front work, deeply understand the extreme importance of the Party's united front work, improve political standing, strengthen the "four consciousnesses", strengthen the "four self-confidences", achieve the "two safeguards", and closely focus on the central work of the Autonomous Region Party Committee, the Autonomous Region People's Government, the Nanning Municipal Party Committee, and the Municipal People's Government to carry out research and form research results, so as to provide useful references for the decision-making and deployment of the Party Committee and government.

Guangxi Tongwang Applied Jurisprudence Research Institute was initiated by Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm, relying on Wuhan University Law School, Guangxi University Law School, Guangxi Normal University Law School and other famous universities, and was approved by the Guangxi District Department of Justice and the Department of Civil Affairs. It is the first and currently the only private applied jurisprudence research institute with independent legal personality in the country. In 2018, Guangxi Tongwang Applied Jurisprudence Research Institute was approved as a formal member of the "Guangxi Characteristic New Think Tank Alliance" officially established by the Autonomous Region. This time, the establishment of the Nanning Municipal Party Committee United Front Work Department Theoretical Research Base in Guangxi Tongwang marks a new level in the construction of the Tongwang Research Institute.
