To popularize the knowledge of the Civil Code and establish students' awareness of understanding and abiding by the law, on December 6, 2021, Chen Kepeng, a lawyer from Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm, was invited back to his alma mater, Beihai No. 1 Middle School, to conduct a lecture on the theme of "The Civil Code Around Us" for the students. The activity was held on the occasion of the eighth National Constitution Day of "12·4". Lawyer Chen Kepeng started with the Constitution, led to the Civil Code from the relationship between the Constitution and the Civil Law, and then combined with the cases he had handled to introduce to the students the impact and significance of the Civil Code on everyone.
Lawyer Chen Kepeng focused on explaining the contents of the General Provisions, Personality Rights, and Tort Liability sections of the Civil Code to the students. In terms of the General Provisions, Lawyer Chen Kepeng introduced the legislative principles of the Civil Code to the students, and took the students themselves as examples to introduce the relationship between age and civil capacity. In terms of personality rights, Lawyer Chen Kepeng introduced the meaning and content of personality rights to the students, emphasizing that students should use the law to protect their own personality rights, and also pay attention not to infringe on the personality rights of others. In terms of tort liability, Lawyer Chen Kepeng introduced the issues that should be paid attention to in campus life in combination with the cases he had handled.
After the lecture, Chen Jiang, the vice principal of Beihai No. 1 Middle School, presented an honorary certificate to Chen Kepeng.
Through this popular science lecture, the students have further deepened their understanding and understanding of the Civil Code, enhanced their legal awareness and concept of the rule of law, and created a strong campus rule of law atmosphere of studying, abiding by, and using the law.
