Tongwang Dynamics: Guangxi Police Association and Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm Hold Legal Service Signing Ceremony

On the morning of July 29, 2021, Guangxi Police Association and Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm held a legal service signing ceremony in Tongwang Law School. Li Aimin, Secretary-General of Guangxi Police Association, presided over the signing ceremony. He Jiawei, Vice President of Guangxi Police Association, Tang Wei, Deputy Secretary-General, Lu Yougeng, Director of Human Resources Department, Wang Qianfeng, Executive Director of Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm, Huang Wenxin, Chen Zhen, Lu Yuzhong, and Huang Jianjun, Director of Guangxi Tongwang (Wuzhou) Law Firm, attended the signing ceremony, as well as staff of Guangxi Police Association and resident lawyers of the Legal Service Workstation for Police Officers of Guangxi Police Association (hereinafter referred to as the workstation).

Since the workstation was established in Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm in 2016, the 26 resident lawyers of our firm have answered more than 300 police legal consultations, handled 14 police-related cases, participated in 4 special investigations on police law enforcement, and were invited to give 17 special lectures for police officers. The task of compiling the 'Guangxi Public Security Organs Police Officers' Rights Protection Manual' further promoted the rights protection work of police officers in our district. Because the five-year contract period of the legal service agreement signed between Guangxi Police Association and Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm in 2016 has expired, the two parties renewed the contract again.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Wang Qianfeng said in his speech that the resident lawyers of the workstation have increased the means and methods for police officers to protect their rights by handling police-related legal affairs, and have played the functional role of lawyers in police officers' rights protection and police-civilian dispute resolution. He emphasized that the resident lawyers of the workstation will, as always, adhere to the tenet of 'working together with one heart and one mind, living up to expectations', live up to the heavy trust, perform their duties as lawyers in accordance with the law, provide high-quality and efficient legal services for police officers of Guangxi public security organs, and play the role that lawyers should play in safeguarding the law enforcement authority of public security police and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of police officers.

At the signing ceremony, He Jiawei and Huang Wenxin signed the 'Legal Service Agreement for the Protection of Rights and Interests of Police Officers of Guangxi Public Security Organs' on behalf of both parties. This signing also reached the intention of conducting online services through the 'Faxiaoxiang' platform. The platform will set up a 'Faxiaoxiang (online) Guangxi Police Officers' Rights Protection Service Green Channel' to make it more convenient and faster for police officers to conduct online legal consultations and appointment service lawyers, and can also learn rights protection methods and related legal knowledge through the platform.

Then, He Jiawei made a speech and issued letters of appointment to the resident lawyers. First of all, he highly recognized and affirmed the work of the resident lawyers of the workstation in the past five years, and pointed out that the establishment of the workstation, the establishment of a professional legal service team, the sharing of resource advantages with the lawyer industry, and the promotion of the benign interaction between police and law can maximize the elimination of the worries of the police and reduce the risk of law enforcement, so that the police can better perform their duties of ensuring peace and stability in one area. He hoped that the hired resident lawyers would further deepen their understanding, build a consensus on rights protection, and strive to do a good job in various tasks of police rights protection, so that front-line police officers can enforce the law with more dignity and confidence.

The hired resident lawyers stated that they will give full play to their professional advantages, perform their duties of safeguarding the authority of police law enforcement and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of police officers, further enhance the professional identity and trust between law enforcement police and lawyers, and strive to build a new, healthy, and benign interactive police-lawyer relationship, so that the workstation will become a professional legal service platform for police officers' rights protection.
