On August 12, 2020, in order to protect the law enforcement authority of the public security police in our region and to do a good job in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the police, the Guangxi Public Security Department organized a research activity on police rights protection. The research team was led by Wen Long, Political Commissar of the Supervision Team of the Guangxi Public Security Department, and Li Aimin, Secretary-General of the Guangxi Police Association. Lawyers Huang Yuhua and Chen Zhen from Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm participated in the research activities of the research team as consultants of the expert assistance group for police rights protection of the Autonomous Region Public Security Department.
The research team visited the Mingxiu Police Station, Traffic Police Brigade One, and Xianhu Police Station of the Nanning Public Security Bureau, and also held a symposium on police rights protection to understand the difficulties and problems in the work of protecting the rights and interests of grassroots police.
The relevant regulations and normative documents issued by the Ministry of Public Security and the Public Security Department of the Autonomous Region on the work of public security organs to safeguard the law enforcement authority of the police clearly stipulate that public security organs can provide legal services for the police to perform their duties and exercise their powers in accordance with the law by hiring legal counsel, full-time lawyers, etc., to strengthen the work of safeguarding the law enforcement authority of the police. In 2016, the Guangxi Police Association Public Security Police Legal Service Center workstation was stationed in Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm, and more than 20 lawyers from Tongwang Law Firm were hired as resident lawyers. Over the years, they have insisted on providing legal services for Guangxi police to perform their duties and exercise their powers in accordance with the law through legal consultation, standardized law enforcement training, and agency litigation. Guangxi Tongwang Law Firm's participation in rights protection work has had a positive impact on the function of lawyers in safeguarding the law enforcement rights and interests of the police, standardizing the law enforcement behavior of the police, and building a harmonious relationship between the police and the people in our region.
