In many reports of advanced deeds, we see that those advanced models insist on working on the front line despite their illnesses, which is promoted as a noble sentiment. However, in the current reports on fighting the epidemic, we see many citizens being held legally responsible for concealing that they have been to epidemic areas and their own conditions. Aren't one's own experiences and conditions personal matters? Why is it illegal to do so?
We should know that the protagonists in the previous reports of advanced deeds did not suffer from infectious diseases. Currently, we are facing the spread of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus across the country. This novel coronavirus is highly infectious. In order to prevent the spread of the virus and fight the epidemic, on January 20, 2020, the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China issued Announcement No. 1 of 2020, including pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus into the Class B infectious diseases stipulated in the 'Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases', and taking prevention and control measures for Class A infectious diseases. Article 330 of my country's current 'Criminal Law' stipulates: Whoever violates the provisions of the law on the prevention and control of infectious diseases, refuses to implement the prevention and control measures proposed by disease prevention and control institutions in accordance with the law on the prevention and control of infectious diseases, causing the spread of Class A infectious diseases or posing a serious risk of spreading, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years or criminal detention; if the consequences are particularly serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years. From the national level to local governments at all levels, it has been proposed that residents should immediately report to the village (residential) committee and community where they are located when they have suspected symptoms of novel coronavirus infection such as fever, cough, and fatigue. Also, those returning from other places who have a history of performing duties or living in key epidemic areas in the past 14 days must immediately report to the village (residential) committee and community where they live after arriving at their place of residence. These requirements are the prevention and control measures proposed by disease prevention and control institutions in accordance with the law on the prevention and control of infectious diseases mentioned in the Criminal Law, and concealing the condition and experience will lead to the public safety risk of the epidemic spreading, so concealing one's own symptoms of infectious diseases and information about having been to key epidemic areas is by no means a personal matter for citizens, but is socially harmful.
During the epidemic, please prioritize your own and public safety. Abiding by the law is protecting a safety.
